Abstract
The basic idea of our diploma thesis is the automatic provision of hardware information to
an IT-Service-Management Software. The aim is to develop an web application that is
able to automatically read all computers with the corresponding information and display the
information.
To achieve this goal, 2 main components have been created:
The graphical user interface, GERI, on which all information is displayed. The source of the data
is the hardware information of the devices from our specially developed service, AGNES.
The backend, AGNES, which gathers the hardware information of the respective device fully
automatically and then sends it via a REST API to a CountIT backend server. There, the data
is stored and processed.
As a result, CountIT’s Technical Service saves a lot of time by eliminating the need to
manually maintain the respective desktop and notebook computers. In addition, the TS receives
an intuitive and user-friendly display via a web application, which further simplifies the otherwise
very complex and time-consuming work. This also makes it even easier for the Technical Service
to find out which devices are currently in use and which are not, which are too old and need to
be replaced, and so on.
